Singapore Xiangqi General Association

Singapore Xiangqi General Association, SIXGA, was set up in 1934. For more than 70 years, it has been promoting Xiangqi (chinese chess) sports relentlessly. In 1997, SIXGA has finally found itself a home in the then newly built SIGC, Singapore Intellectual Games Centre, located adjacent to Bishan Community Club.

Over the years, SIXGA has also successfully organized several International Xiangqi tournaments, the most recent one being the 11th Asian Individual Xiangqi Tournament in November 2003. 

You are welcome to join us as members and take part in our activities. You can visit us at our clubhouse at 51 Bishan Street 13 #01-01, Singapore 579799 during our opening hours: Every Friday: 7pm to 10pm;  Every Saturday and Sunday: 2pm to 10pm

 


2009 National XiangQi Open Championship (26th Jun - 11th Jul)

'One Week to Master XiangQi' (1st - 28th Jun)

SIXGA is organizing a 'One week to Master XiangQi' course for primary school students in the June School holidays. This course is conducted over 6 lessons and the course fee is $120. All 6 lessons will be conducted in a week for 6 consecutive days. You can choose to attend the morning or the afternoon session on a daily basis. For any queries, you can call 62590984 (Mr. Chan).


National XiangQi Tournament for Age 50 & Above (24th - 26th Jul)

Organized by Redhill Community Club, assisted by SIXGA, will be organizing a National XiangQi Tournament for age 50 & above. This tournament will be held at Redhill Community Club, and is only open to Singaporean and Singapore Permanent Resident. More details will follow shortly. 14th Char Yong Cup Students' XiangQi Championships (11th - 22nd Mar)

Sponsored by Char Yong (Dabu) Association, supported by Bishan Community Club, Anglican High School & Jurongville Secondary School , organized by SIXGA, the 14th Char Yong Cup Students' XiangQi Championships closed successfully on 22nd March after 2 weeks of keen competition. The results are now available here.


Ee Hoe Hean Cup 15th Asian XiangQi Championships (20th - 26th Oct)

Organized by Asian XiangQi Federation (AXF), sponsored by Ee Hoe Hean, Kiddy Palace and the Singapore Sports Council, jointly hosted by SIXGA and Nanyang Polytecnnic, the Ee Hoe Hean Cup 15th Asian XiangQi Championships has closed successfully on 26th Oct. After a week of keen competition amongst the 100 top XiangQi players from 16 countries and regions in Asia Pacific. China emerged victorious once again in all 3 divisions of the competition, namely the Men's Team, Women's Individual and Junior's Individual. At the same time, AXF also successfully held its Annual General Meeting during this period in which the new management committee evolved.

Student XiangQi Courses

SIXGA is organizing a series of XiangQi courses at various level, targeting at students. These courses will be conducted either in Mandarin or English. The course fee is $120 for 10 lessons conducted over 10 weeks. You can download the Registration Form here and fax it to us upon completion (Fax: 62588125). Xiangqi Instructors for Student Xiangqi Courses

As SIXGA is organizing a series of XiangQi courses at various learning levels, mainly targeting at students, we welcome you to register with us as Xiangqi Instructors for these classes. Master Games by Specific Opening System

In its continuous effort to promote art of XiangQi, SIXGA's study committee has compiled hundreds of classic games played by Masters and Grand Masters around the world, most notably from China.
